[feature request]add exclude folder/tag/link option

Open Ravenclawer opened this issue 2 years ago • 14 comments

I have used the list modified plugin which means that notes that I have modified will automatically linked to that day's daily note so even when the link of a note is simple , it will be crowded by unnecessary links generated by daily notes , so I wonder if you could develop a option to exclude folder/tag/link image

+1 for exclude folder

+1 for exclude folder (and subfolders) My use case is that I use another markdown notes app, Logseq, in my repo for better daily notes. Logseq is creating backup files which are populating my excalibrain graph.

By exclude folder you mean to completely exclude certain folders? i.e. do not index or display your templates folder, etc.? I can add a field where you enter a comma separated list of file paths. All files starting with the paths listed will be excluded. Would this solution help?

@zsviczian Thanks for developing this plugin!

For me adding excluded folder in settings is sufficient.

For future: maybe for other use cases list of Regen patterns or certain dataview-like queries will work better (for example for exclusion files of certain tag or certain value of custom field - if the plugin is based on a dataview, would such a solution be possible?)

Another point - local or global exclusion, my case is global (in settings), but for future use, I can imagine users specifying it locally per file

@zsviczian It would be great if we could exclude the listed folder to declutter the excalibrain view, and if it's convenient, you may also add the options to exclude certain tags and outlinks or inlinks to a note. since some people may depend mainly on MOCs or tags to organize the vault

To get started with exclusions I added a simple exclude path list to settings under the Display section.

thanks! The exclude folder option appeared but the plugin is still versioned as 0.0.1 in Obsidian after I manually downloaded it

@danieltomasz, did you also download the manifest.json?

Turns out I did not check in the changes to GitHub. It should now update via BRAT correctly.

zsviczian avatar May 06 '22 05:05 zsviczian

@zsviczian the latest update on brat is still 0.0.11 and version json is the same (0.0.11)

I just pushed 0.0.12

@zsviczian Thanks you, folder filtering works great.

Could you, please, also add a setting to filter out specific tags? I'm heavily using MOC files that create a lot of clutter.

External (web) links Excalibrain for Obsidian can be excluded by adding "http" (without the quotes) to the exclude list.

It would be great to use the properties to select what notes should be displayed.
