About disable cfg lock

Dear Zspherez: Finally I bought a second hand DELL XPS 15 9500 ( haha) to try hackintosh. when i tried to disable cfg lock, i got the following message WechatIMG81 does it mean i have different mother board? my CPU is 10875, board is WM490. Thanks for your great support!

Maybe because the bios version. I am using the latest 1.21. What is your working version? Thanks

Hello. I am having the exact same problem here. I am on the newest version of the BIOS (1.23.1). Thinking this was the issue, I went through the trouble of extracting my BIOS and finding the CFG lock offset, which is the same exact offset that you have notated, 0x3e. I am getting the same exact error here... Kinda frustrating that I'm back at square one.

maybe we need to degrade to 1.10 or even earlier version, i will update you after i finish it.

if you use the proper tool and address, it should just work. check : https://github.com/jkbuha/XPS-9500-IceLake-OpenCore works for me on XPS 9700 and Precision 5550 which is almost like a XPS 9500.

one addition: do not forget to reset the BIOS to factory defaults after unlock, it seems needed to make it work sometimes.
