Explain better how the feature is supposed to work?
Not everybody will read the original thread on the zsh mailing list. It would be nice if someone could explain how it works, perhaps using https://asciinema.org or just a screen recording.
I wanted to try it out, but as far as I can tell, all it does is breaks ^r, and when I press up and down it causes the current matching history entry to blink red and purple? 😵💫
It works like Fish history search. See the fish docs.
