zsh-autosuggestion backspace jitter in WSL 2.0

Installed autosuggestion on a new laptop and this jitter is driving me insane, since I have been using zsh-autosuggestion for +5 years now without any issues - on WSL 2 / Windows 10.

I have zsh autosuggestion installed on my older laptop, running WSL 2, and there seems to not be any issue.

I am unable to report which autosuggestion version, since my old laptop is broken ( will take a month to get it back and up and working ).

Has anybody faced this issue before ?

A short term solution is to go to your zsh-autosuggestion folder.

and revert back to the 2016 version v0.2.4 cd71081303287498f940e6158cfce13583d4293f, that is what I have been using for 5 years now.

cd ~/.oh-my-zsh/custom/plugins/zsh-autosuggestions
git checkout cd71081303287498f940e6158cfce13583d4293f
