Request: bundle option/syntax for _not_ cloning a plugin's submodules

Description

A plugin/repo's submodules are not always needed for regular use, and in those cases, refraining from cloning them can save the user some space and bandwidth. A new flag to bundle or repo syntax for not cloning any of the repo's submodules could be handy.
