Was Antigen experimenting with eval "$(<.../the-plugin-file)"?

I recall that I've once saw that Antigen has been using eval "$(<.../the-plugin-file)" instead of the source .../the-plugin-file. I cannot find that line of code currently. Has it been really there or did I mislook at something?
