Why does windows use favicon.png instead of the icon I specified in resource.syso?

Hi,

I'm trying to make the taskbar icon look nice in windows, but no matter what kind of favicon it uses, it is coming up pixelated. I specified an icon using syso and that looks great for the actual exe and scales perfectly using a multi res ico file, but the same file doesn't work there either. At the end I tested the png included in the counter example to see if it looked as bad as my png was looking (it does)

Is there any solution?

I tried all of those, couldn't get it to work. went with the go electron solution instead
