HMAI Cloud Integration with Zebra
It was a pleasure presenting to the Zebra community this morning. After discussing HMAI Cloud with you, what are the next steps to look at integrating HMAI Cloud with Zebra? Would you like to look at the User 191 SMF MAR record directly, or can we start with SFTP'ing the HMAI CSV (or JSON) data to the Zebra server for parsing and building into Prometheus?

I think, that a strategy (an organize stack of solutions/initiatives) is needed to avoid disperse and fragmented solutions for the mainframe platform, up to now I count the following initiatives open source covering different aspects of the platform
Zebra (https://github.com/zowe/zebra) HMAI (for Hitachi Vantara storage) zHMC (https://github.com/zhmcclient/zhmc-prometheus-exporter) DS8000 (https://github.com/topine/ibm-spectrum-exporter) MQ (https://github.com/ibm-messaging/mq-metric-samples)
Most end in Prometheus. If we see Zebra as a big API consumer, recording in Prometheus (and MongoDB for other aspects), the direction is very interesting. It is a reflection, hoping contribute to the analysis/discuss.
I'll add another initiative that monitors zOS Container Extensions using Grafana installed as a Docker container on IBM Z. It's described in IBM Redbook https://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg248457.html
Salisu, to get started with integrating HMAI Cloud into Zebra I can send you a Data Dictionary that contains the HMAI metrics descriptions in detail. Would that be helpful?
