conference_proceeding->book

This adjusts the behavior for conference proceedings so they get imported as item type book. The current behavior (import as item type conference paper) doesn't seem to be a good fit IMO.

Hmm, looks like it's not so simple. Discussing this with @zuphilip we have encountered that this seems not to be consistent across implementations. (Some implementations use converence_proceeding for the individual articles others for the whole book. I'll need to investigate further.
