Translator Request: Swisslex

Open Tomagori opened this issue 3 years ago • 12 comments

Swisslex is the primary source for nearly all legal research in Switzerland, but as of today, existing translators can't seem to deal with it at all. If someone were to find the time to do this, it would go a long, long way towards making Zotero/Juris-M more useful in Switzerland.

I'd be more than happy to assist with any questions regarding the functioning of the platform and attributing materials to the relevant Zotero item types.

Working on this. Is there any way to access it without creating an account? I tried to create one, but it looks like there's a manual verification process that my bogus info probably won't pass.

Thank you very much!

I'm afraid there's no way around creating an account, at least I don't know of one. You should be able to create a trial account that's free for 30 days though, and I might be able to get in touch with the people behind the platform if the 30 days aren't sufficient.

I would be willing to work on a translator and already asked for a 'development account' (as my work account is charged rather steeply for every access). However, there was not even a response :( Do you know someone to ask personally, @Tomagori ?

In the past, Swisslex responded quite quickly to me. For how long have you not had a response from them?

Several weeks now... I thought they may consider an open source project as 'beneath their worth'. Do you happen to know if they even offer development accounts? (it may even be heavily restricted, not cannibalizing their commercial accounts - e.g. only list authors beginning with B or S...)

ok, that is unusual. I don't know if they have something like development accounts, but I don't see why they wouldn't want to allow you to develop a translator. Shall I write them as well?

I just wrote to the hotline again. Probably worth if you write as well - that would be signalling there is public interest ;)

Ok, wrote them as well

I unfortunately never heard back when I applied for an account, either.

@AbeJellinek I have received a response from Swisslex and they've agreed to give out developer accounts. Are you still interested in participating? If yes, please e-mail me at t6ss6bgag [at] relay.firefox.com and I can involve you in the process.
