Why aren't the protected and buffered bike lanes appearing?

The buffered and protected bike lanes are appearing as very thin lines in the same color as the MapQuest roads behind them. I looked at the code and it appears to be correct, but @rguico rewrote it from the original styling function so I am probably missing something.
