Is support for 11.16.0-49 planned or impossible?

The tile of the release for is "EOL Means End Of Luck Edition" for the fw version 11.16.0-48 is rather confusing, is this the latest fw to be supported for ever or just for now? And is a release for 11.16.0-49 planned?
