If media send is interrupted when I go offline, it does not resume when connected

Here is the case: I send a message while I'm in the subway station and connected to wifi. It starts to send. Then, I lose wifi so it gets an error (says ‘error - no response’). When I'm connected again, it does not automatically resend. If I open the error and tap resend, resend works.
