Not getting messages that are queued on the server

Some messages I send never go through. They just remain on my side with a single check.

We had a scenario with our fellows that is related to this. If the user didn't have the app open and running, he would get a 'new message' push notification. But when he opened the app there were no new messages that came through. Even when he opened the chat with the person that sent it, he wouldn't see the latest messages.

If the friend sent messages while he had the app open, they would go through.
