Authentication stopped working

Authentication worked fine until earlier today. Now I get this error message:

Request $/handleOAuthCallbackUri failed with message: Minified error #8: See https://developer.grammarly.com/docs/error-explainer?code=8&args=vscode%3A%2F%2Fznck.grammarly%2Fauth%2Fcallback%3FwindowId%3D3&trace=Error%0A++++at+https%3A%2F%2Fjs.grammarly.com%2Fgrammarly-sdk%401.7%3A17%3A60282%0A++++at+Generator.next+%28%3Canonymous%3E%29%0A++++at+bt+%28https%3A%2F%2Fjs.grammarly.com%2Fgrammarly-sdk%401.7%3A17%3A26642%29%0A++++at+o+%28https%3A%2F%2Fjs.grammarly.com%2Fgrammarly-sdk%401.7%3A17%3A26846%29%0A++++at+https%3A%2F%2Fjs.grammarly.com%2Fgrammarly-sdk%401.7%3A17%3A26907%0A++++at+new+Promise+%28%3Canonymous%3E%29%0A++++at+https%3A%2F%2Fjs.grammarly.com%2Fgrammarly-sdk%401.7%3A17%3A26786%0A++++at+Ve+%28https%3A%2F%2Fjs.grammarly.com%2Fgrammarly-sdk%401.7%3A17%3A60396%29%0A++++at+https%3A%2F%2Fjs.grammarly.com%2Fgrammarly-sdk%401.7%3A17%3A90543%0A++++at+t.SDK.handleOAuthCallback+%28https%3A%2F%2Fjs.grammarly.com%2Fgrammarly-sdk%401.7%3A17%3A90565%29 for details.

Pre-Release version v0.23.12 seems to fix the issue:

Also getting that error

Pre-Release version v0.23.12 seems to fix the issue:

Only partly. If it's the first time you are connecting your account, it still doesn't work.

rodrigogiraoserrao avatar Feb 06 '23 14:02 rodrigogiraoserrao

any updates?

enesok avatar Feb 06 '23 17:02 enesok

Same error. Switching to v0.18.0 worked for me.

harshakokel avatar Feb 07 '23 05:02 harshakokel

Same error. Switching to v0.18.0 worked for me.

Yes, even updated afterwards to 0.22 without any problems,

enesok avatar Feb 07 '23 10:02 enesok

The latest one I seem to be able to get working is 0.18.1 on MacOS 13.1 (22C65)

Still broken for me, no matter if stable or pre-release

Try the 0.18 version. I was able to login with this version and switch back to the actual version.

Same issue here, managed to connect by downgrading to 18.1

mvkvc avatar Feb 10 '23 22:02 mvkvc

I switched to 18.1, until there is a fix.

Rahulsharma0810 avatar Feb 13 '23 13:02 Rahulsharma0810

I downgraded to 0.18, connected, and upgraded again to the latest version. Worked very well so far

grobmeier avatar Feb 16 '23 19:02 grobmeier

I downgraded to 0.18.0 and 0.18.1 and in both cases, I am redirected correctly to the Grammarly login/permission page, but when I click on "continue", I receive a red notification from the Grammarly website that says:

Invalid redirect URI Error: <10 digit alphanumeric code>

So I am unlucky in all versions.

614n avatar Feb 17 '23 11:02 614n

I switched to 18.1, until there is a fix.

I did the same, but I ensured my default browser was Google Chrome, as I have experienced many issues using Safari for the auth flow. This may be why downgrading and then upgrading are not working for some.

@znck Sorry for the direct ping. I just wanna make sure you know about this and dont overlook it because of some notification setting being wrong.

If you have no time currently, please just leave a little note so that people know.
