and owntone definitely notifies on meta change, because I'm using it to pull cover [via itunes search api] on track change [for radio streams which don't have them], via websocket...
@4gray You should probably wait till tauri can be built against gtk-webkit-6 instead of gtk-webkit-4 to have any shot at crossdesktop compatibility, and getting it into working state overall.
Just a suggestion, perhaps use libmpv for streams since it can read metadata instead of raw ffmpeg?
