We need to support this because it works with Yarn.

Not sure I'll be able to finish this until Jest adds support for module mocking in ESM https://github.com/facebook/jest/issues/10025

I might just temporarily skip the tests that use mocks... Jest seems to not rush with adding full esm support

@pnpm/collaborators is Jest actively maintained? Should we switch to something else? ESM support is still not in Jest.

The problem is that each test runner comes with its own assertion syntax. So a switch of a test runner is not as easy as a switch of a package...

I am not in rush with this. I use the libraries of pnpm in bit cli, which is not in esm yet

Regarding a Jest alternative, it is still early but we can try [vitest](https://vitest.dev/)

pnpm is also heavily used by [Bit](https://github.com/teambit/bit). Which is not in ESM yet. So, we are blocked with the migration for now. cc @giladshoham
