Disabled the macro _LIBUNWIND_IS_NATIVE_ONLY and it is OK to build libunwind.
The next problem is that ld.lld having error doing relocation when linking zig binary.
Managed to replace ld.lld with mold for the command that linking zig binary. Now I have a working zig stage3 binary I guess.
With the patch now it is possible to build a stage3 zig binary with command
$ CMAKE_GENERATOR=Ninja CC=/usr/bin/clang CXX=/usr/bin/clang++ ./build loongarch64-linux-gnu loongarch64
With this stage3 zig binary, there is still some problem:
- stage3 zig is linked by external mold, we might need to wait for ld.lld in upstream to support R_LARCH_ALIGN relocation.
- there is no libc support yet.
Now have the same issue as

so only the LLVM 19 upgrade remains now?
For successfully bootstraping a loongarch64 zig binary, YES.
However, for a workable loongarch64 zig binary, I'm still looking into this problem.

It seems that the options struct parameter passed by value to function ZigLLVMTargetMachineEmitToFile is not handled correctly.

It's most likely just down to missing sret and byval vs byref handling for LoongArch in Zig's LLVM backend. I'll take a closer look later today. Lots of TODOs in that code for other architectures too.

You don't need to run the bootstrap build script on a loongarch64 machine. I recommend using a amd64 or arm64 machine with relatively new gcc/clang (or even zig 0.13) to run the bootstrap script.

This problem should already be fixed in https://github.com/ziglang/zig/pull/21153.
So maybe you should try my llvm19-fix-f16 branch that is base on llvm19 branch (which includes the fix) here.
For some reason on loongarch64 llvm19-fix-f16 gave similar error zig-bootstrap2.log

The problem is because we are not customizing the code model of zig2 to be medium in bootstrap script.
