mental ray: LatLong Stereo Shader does not do camera motion blur

Open embeh opened this issue 9 years ago • 3 comments

It seems as if the LatLong Stereo lens shader for mental ray will not compute any motion blur?

Attached is a simplistic 3ds Max 2017 scene file. Render as is and no motion blur will be rendered. Turn off the Latlong lens shader in the render dialog and render again - motion blur is computed.

I seem unable to attach a zipped .max file.... :(

Hi Martin.

You can email me an attachment directly at [email protected].

The lens shader does not affect motion blur. Motion blur is handled by the mental ray core, and our shader does not participate in that process other than to return rays when asked.

Let's see your scene and check if there is something else going on.

email sent. FWIW, if you use the WrapAround lens shader that ships with mental ray, motion blur is correctly calculated,

Also, the same issue applies to the normal, non-stereo version of the LatLong shader available through domemaster.
