Question regarding first time user-usage

When a first time user just swiped a card I'd like to pause on its way out - lets say half of it will be already out of screen bounds, half still in - to present a confirmation alert, making sure with the user that he understand the meaning of the action.

If the user tapped "Continue", I would continue the action and swipe the card away; if "Cancel" - then I would return the card to the stuck, on the top.

Can anyone think of a simple way to do it?
