Menu Pops up far from the icon

While the icon shows up as expected, when clicked, the associated menu pops up some distance from the click point. Perhaps closer to the applications main window (which may or may not be visible).

I'm seeing this in Fedora 29, Gnome 3.30.2 and my own application, tomboy-ng https://github.com/tomboy-notes/tomboy-ng

If I disable Wayland, it all works as expected.

Upstream ? You mean with Gnome Development ? Don't think they are interested to be honest. Quite opposed to using System Tray model.
