minimized VLC icon crashes in gnome 3.38.1 (wayland)

Open tomjtoth opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Steps to reproduce:

  • I run VLC
  • I click the minimize button (I set it with Tweaks, will probably get rid of it though)
  • VLC disappears, the tray icon remains in the top-right corner
  • clicking the icon from the tray crashes the gnome session

workaround:

  • I restart gdm
  • remove the extension from "~/.local/share/......"
  • I log in, everything is fine

Confirmed. But it seems like this is an issue of upstream. I have tested other applications e.g. Pidgin, qBittorrent, etc. and they all work well.
