Mac installer doesn't create ~/Library/Application Support/ZeroTier/One

  • Completely delete zerotier, or have a new computer
  • install zerotier 1.8.3
  • zerotier-cli info ->
  • zerotier-cli: authtoken.secret not found or readable in /Library/Application Support/ZeroTier/One (try again as root)
  • ls ~/Library/Application\ Support/ZeroTier/One -> ls: /Users/travis/Library/Application Support/ZeroTier/One: No such file or directory

Needing root/sudo is a big source of support questions.

It's creating ~/Library/Application Support/ZeroTier/ (without the "One") and putting the authtoken and saved networks there. This is probably for the new UI.

I tested this on 10.15 and 10.14 vms and physical big sur. The UI seems to check both locations. If it can't find one, it copies it to ~/Library/Application\ Support/ZeroTier/
