Error: Bad Signature (when trying to install in Spacemacs)

I followed the setup instruction for spacemacs, but after restarting, installation fails with (Spacemacs) Error: An error occurred while installing copilot (error: (bad-signature jsonrpc-1.0.25.tar.sig))

I'm running Spacemacs 27.2 on Ubuntu 20.04.

Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

It seems that Spacemacs had an issue while trying to install jsonrpc (version 1.0.25), which is a dependency of copilot.el. You could try manually installing jsonrpc.
