Fixed line break problem in repl (working on arch)

Unnecessary spaces for cleaning while typing caused a line break. This PR fixes that.

tried the repl, makes a new line for each key stroke

Let's summarize, then:

  1. works on OS X, Terminal.app
  2. works on Arch Linux, ? (what do you use, @Tobsic?)
  3. does not work on Arch Linux, xterm
