"The Dormant Ivy falls!"
trafficstars
I was surprised to see that ivy is allowed to fall into pits (e.g. in the Palace). I expected the ivy to grow over the pit just fine. Also, ivy can trigger open/close plates.
Even if falling ivy is intentionally allowed, the animation sequence is a bit sketchy IMHO.
- Turn 1: The Active Ivy attacks onto a trapdoor space: A new Dormant Ivy appears on the trapdoor. The falling trapdoor is animated. End of turn: a Dormant Ivy is on the pit.
- Turn 2: "The Dormant Ivy falls!" A new Dead Ivy appears on the trapdoor. The falling Dormant Ivy is animated. End of turn: a Dead Ivy is on the pit.
- Turn 3: The Dead Ivy vanishes; no message is given. End of turn: nothing is on top of the pit anymore.
Lastly, unrelated but easily observed around the gates to the Palace: When ivy can't grow forward (e.g. because its way is blocked by an open pit), it shifts into "withdrawing tentacle" mode. I was surprised by this.
