VSCode only opens empty textfile

I associated vscode with the extension via xdg-mime default vscode.desktop x-scheme-handler/vscode

Clicking the 'Clone with VSCode' button only opens an empty textfile with repository.git as the name in vscode.

And could you try to get extension to work on Brave?
