hello, I'm new with wordpress and I would like to use this boilerplate, I'm familiar with sites without databases. Now I was wondering do I have to put my code also in the boilerplate(html5) file?? This I don't get? Is only index, footer, header.php not enough?? and why is this so, or not.

Big thanks.

It's purely a wordpress template with no additional functionality.

You'd be best reading these resources. http://codex.wordpress.org/Templates http://html5boilerplate.com

Thank you, the thing that makes it difficult are thes php tags. you can't just make the links in the nav the way you do it in pure html.
