Text Snippets Work Intermittently
Text snippets have only ever worked erratically for me. I'm currently running Sequoia 15.7.1, but this has been true as long as I've used Keyboard Cowboy. I can consistently reproduce the behavior even after closing every other app (including background apps like Maccy), and I have checked the permissions to ensure KC is added to the Accessibility and Input Monitoring. I should also mention I have tried adding various delays in the commands, and I do NOT have any other text replacement apps enabled.
A typical experience would be opening a text editor (it doesn't matter which one), and I try a snippet. It will always work the first time, and it will usually continue to work on the first line. Once I hit enter, it usually fails 9 out of 10 times. If I backspace and try again, sometimes it works once, and then it fails again. Attached is a typical session where I simply type the trigger "!R" repeatedly, along with some new lines, and you can see it works sometimes. Every one of the trigger words is typed quickly in the same fashion, and sometimes it works and mostly it doesn't. Typing faster or slower doesn't change the behavior. If I close the text editor and try it in another app, again it will work the first time I try it, and then it will fail intermittently.
I am currently running KC 3.28.2 (2692), but again, this has been the case since the introduction of text snippets on both my Mac Mini and my MacBook Pro. Any tips or suggestions, or could this be a bug?
I'm going to refactor the feature to make it more reliable. Thanks for pointing it out! 💯
