Livestream video freezes when focusing other fullscreen window, but audio still works

What happened?

If I watch a stream on Twitch, and then start playing a game in fullscreen (or windowed fullscreen), the video freezes between 2-10 seconds after tabbing, but the audio still works. If I tab back out, pause and re-play the stream the video works again, but after tabbing back to the game it will freeze again after 2-70 seconds.

The issue is the same in firefox, but was fixed by using this addon: Alternate Player for Twitch.tv. The same addon did not fix it in Zen. The same issue does not persist when playing a livestream on YouTube.

The framerate lowers on both when tabbing to the game but the freeze only happens on Twitch.

No log output appeared when tabbing or when it froze. Nothing changed when disabling all extensions. I have no custom css or mods.

Happens to me on Youtube using Zen 1.14.5b (audio works fine but the video freezes and have to pause/resume the video to work again)

i have also encountered this issue using Firefox 142.0 (64-bit), and running in Troubleshooting mode fixed the issue. Edit: resetting all browser settings also fixed the issue.

same issue occurs using zen 1.15.5b with youtube videos and twitch streams.

Same issue using zen 1.16.1b even having the videos or streamings in pip pauses and need to refresh all website to make them work again, this is unusable tbh
