What happened?

For Pinned Tabs when Close Tab Shortcut Behavior is set to Reset URL and switch to next tab the URL only gets reset once the user navigates back to the pinned tab. This leads to audio/video continuing to play and an unpleasant experience where the user has to wait for the URL to load when returning to the pinned tab. This could be done immediately in the background when the tab is closed.

Desired behavior: reset the tab immediately after closing the pinned tab.

Reproduce: pin YouTube homepage as a tab, navigate to and start playing a video, then close the pinned tab. Observe as the video keeps playing even though the URL should be reset.

Additionally, the faded favicon for the pinned tab seems to suggest the tab is unloaded. Which is not the case, nor should it be, as that is a separate option for Close Tab Shortcut Behavior.

For a large part related to https://github.com/zen-browser/desktop/issues/8267 with the difference you use Reset URL and switch to next tab pref without the unload option.

I found that setting browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand to false solves the issue. (makes all pinned tabs load on browser startup instead of waiting and loading on demand when you click on them)

Seems to have been fixed in version 1.12.6b (Firefox 138.0.4) (64-bit).
