weird newtab behaviour in certain sites

What happened?

Browser breaks when closing an opened link from certain sites.

Reproducible steps:

1. Open new tab in non-default workspace on LinkedIn
2. Close the redirected tab on default workspace before it loads

I'm able to reproduce this issue in version 1.11.5b and it looks like it's fixed in Twilight (nightly) version 1.13t.

It seems the steps to reproduce provided by the OP are incomplete. Here's how I was able to reproduce:

1. Set a default container to the default workspace.
2. Create a new workspace.
3. Go to about:preferences#zenTabManagement and enable Switch to workspace where container is set as default when opening container tabs.
4. In the new workspace, right-click any hyperlink on a website and select "Open Link in New Container Tab", choosing the container set in Step 1.
5. Immediately close the newly opened tab using the Ctrl + W shortcut.

^{* PS: I've also noticed the workspaces in the latest version 1.12.6b are broken, when trying to create a workspace, you'll need to restart the browser after you create the workspace, otherwise any elements like tabs/workspaces/new tab button won't appear in the sidebar.}
