I am using zen 1.0.1-a.7 (64-bit) (Generic version-Windows_10) and I am having the same issue as well. Apparently this issue was found in older versions of firefox which you can reference in this solved GitHub issue from Vimium's repository. It got fixed later but it somehow reappears in zen. I hope the devs solve it really soon as it is freaking annoying.
When I use open link in same tab (for which is the keyword is small f by default) in zen mods page. Still it opens two new tabs with same web pages.
@mauro-balades please look into this
Seems like it's an issue with the extension

It works fine in firefox
@mauro-balades any ideas on fixing this. I use vimium c for my nacigation and I almost don't use my mouse. This affects my browsing experience greatly. I might be kind of urging you but please fix this as soon as possible.

same. It works fine with Firefox, but not with Zen. This is the only reason why I don't use Zen. I wish I could use Zen again soon...
I have the same issue, once it opened the link in glance + new tab. So, may be the issue is related to glance? This doesn't happen with tridactyl so I'm guessing that they use a different mechanism.
this happened even when zen didn't have glance. so i think it isn't related to glance
Two main issues with glance:
- Vimium-C/Tridactly doesn't work on it (You must click with your mouse for them to work, glance window focus issue?) https://github.com/zen-browser/desktop/issues/3016
- Vimium-C shift+f opens two tabs, one is glance, the other is a separate new tab.
I opened a new issue for the first one: https://github.com/zen-browser/desktop/issues/3016

Still present in the latest version (1.0.2-b.0)
@mauro-balades, the user has confirmed that the bug in the Vimium C extension, where pressing 'F' opens two identical tabs, is still present in the latest version (1.0.2-b.0). Could you please assist them with this issue?
The problem seems to be related to the default behavior of the browser, the "open two pages" issue is not triggered if the link is opened on the current page, and it must be triggered if the link is opened on a new page.
I no longer experience this on the newest version.
