[PM] How to encourage market creation?

Open sea212 opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Currently there is a minimum bond of about $40 required to create a market. One argument why someone should create a market is because the gained insight directly affects the person. Do we want to encourage people to create markets that provide insight that does not directly affect them, and if yes, how do we do that? One suggestion was to take a minuscule part of the redeem value and assign it to the market creator. Another approach could be to reserve a part of the trading fee for the market creator.

  • Users pay an entry-fee for the market: Before they can trade, they pay x% of the market bond. Means that if a market attracts at least 100/x users, the market creator makes a profit from entry-fees. (Requires O(user count) storage, so maybe not the best of ideas...)
  • Market creator gets x% of all the liquidity added to the market.
