I think this makes sense. The only nasty thing is you probably want to update YAML without rewriting it (e.g. so that comments get lost, reformat everything). For the PLUGS...
It's possible this has to do with the release of Deno 2.0. I'd have to look into this. Generally this is not a very well supported nor heavily used setup.

Well... _technically_ this is as it should work. As of the introduction of [Space Config](https://silverbullet.md/Space%20Config) the `SETTINGS` file is no longer special. SilverBullet is configured by merging all `space-config` code...
SETTINGS is no longer a thing in v2.
Do you happen to remember what the mat version was that you ran? And now you're on 0.9? I don't think anything has changed here for a very long time.
Ok, pushed some tweaks to `default`, should be on edge soon. Could you check if this fixes or at least gives some more info?
The question is: what should SilverBullet do when it starts to get 401s? The assumption is a redirect is in place to send the user to a login page, but...
