Description
This is with a new Claude account using the max plan which includes Claude Code, which works using Claude Code locally, but Zed appears to be trying to use credits.
Tested with multiple Anthropic models and profiles and always get the same response.
Tested with an API key created after linking Claude chat and Claude Code using /login command in Claude Code locally.
It's possible that Claude don't actually let you use your max subscription for general API usage, and only through "Claude Code", but I can't find reliable documentation to confirm this.
If that's the case, then this is more appropriate as a feature request as Zed's AI panel is a far superior experience!
Experience up until now with Zed's subscription was flawless, so looking forward to continued usage!

That is correct, the Claude plan is only for Claude.ai and Claude Code: https://support.anthropic.com/en/articles/9876003-i-subscribe-to-a-paid-claude-ai-plan-why-do-i-have-to-pay-separately-for-api-usage-on-console
In order to use Claude in Zed with your own API key, you do need to pay for API credits.

As said I'd love to see claude code supported in the agent panel as the change review process was a much better workflow, whether that's something the Zed team can make possible, or if Anthropic simplify their subscription model for API.
