Status bar flicker when editing a Python project

Summary

When editing a Python project every key-press results in substantial flicker on the status bar. This is quite distracting.

Description

Open a Python project and being editing a file. It appears as if after every key-press the file is re-analysed (by ruff or related tools) and the status of this processing is shown in the status bar giving rise to signifciant and distracting flicker. See screen recording below.

Expected Behavior: Actual Behavior: The status bar should not change its output so drastically after every key press. Ideally, just the cursor position should update.
