It looks related to #30482
I'm currently away from home, but when I get back I will test this on my desktop PC running openSUSE Tumbleweed (KDE Plasma) and see if there are similar issues.
I have also created an issue on the MXLinux forum to see if it could be a bug on their end. Not sure if it is reproducible on other XFCE distros.

I just tested in openSUSE Tumbleweed (KDE Plasma) and everything seems to work fine there. So it's probably related to XFCE and GNOME.
Hi there! 👋 We're working to clean up our issue tracker by closing older bugs that might not be relevant anymore. If you are able to reproduce this issue in the latest version of Zed, please let us know by commenting on this issue, and it will be kept open. If you can't reproduce it, feel free to close the issue yourself. Otherwise, it will close automatically in 14 days. Thanks for your help!
I'm using Zed 0.212.7 on Fedora / Xfce and can also see issues with the window icon. While Zed has an icon in the Whisker Menu and task bar, it does not seem to have an icon in the task switcher:
Though I'm not sure if this is due to "broken desktop file". It's probably rather due to #40096 not being merged yet.
