Describe the bug / provide steps to reproduce it

I opened a project in Zed, and after switching to another application for a while, I noticed that the Zed process had terminated. When I tried to reopen Zed, I found that it would replicate the screen from before it was closed onto its UI, but nothing else was displayed. It remained stuck on this screen with no further updates. The terminal showed an error message.
