Describe the bug / provide steps to reproduce it

I'm presently using the Geist Mono (non nerd patched) font on my editor, and the ligatures aren't being spaced appropriately, and there's an overlap between characters. I'm adding screenshots to illustrate the problem. This doesn't happen in other editors or on iterm.

Also, there are no specific steps to reproduce it. This issue has bugged me for quite some time now, I'm only opening an issue now.
