Buffer edit history and undotree-like features

Describe the feature

Vim stores the entire edit histories of buffers. Plugins such as undotree allow to visualize them (see UI screenshot below). Such a feature creates confidence when reverting changes, as they always remain available on some "undo branch" for the duration of a working session. It seems rather unique across the text editor landscape.

This features seems like a nice fit with Zed and—to me—matches with Zed's philosophy of "feeling safe and sharp while editing (concurrently)".
