Android Port
While in theory it is possible to port Zeal to Android, it's definitely not a short term goal. In meanwhile you could give LovelyDocs a try. It's not free though.
OK, thanks, good to know.
Maybe you can leave this issue open for the record?
I have actually left it open :)
I'm in for any other collaborator who will also want to work on the Android app for Zealdocs.
Count me in. What language/framework could possibly be used to get it done? @trollixx @antzshrek
@od-c0d3r it should be in a language/framework that the community feel comfortable with, but feel free to drop your suggestion of a language/framework.
I have enough Rails to make an API, with some React for front-end, what do you think @antzshrek?
@od-c0d3r that's fair enough. @trollixx any other suggestion?
@od-c0d3r any progress so far?
I tried contacting @trollixx on LinkedIn, no results.
What do you think we need to start working? @antzshrek
Anyone is free to work on this. It would not be related to Zeal. There's nothing that can be reused from the C++/Qt codebase.
Someone would need to reach out to @Kapeli for a permission to use the docsets.
I would opt for Flutter but it's mostly a personal preference. I definitely don't have time for another app. So pick whatever you are most comfortable with.
@od-c0d3r I haven't seen any messages about Zeal on LinkedIn. I have a bazillion of connection requests without any context so I ignore those unless I recognize names.
I've sent that out already @trollixx, but on another thought, @od-c0d3r instead of just the android version, why not let's work on a mobile version (android/iOS). My thoughts, what do we think?
@antzshrek lets meet, [email protected] , please send me your availability.
