Add environmental metadata to network estimation

Hi, I would like to know if it possible to obtain this network with SpiecEasi : from Mandakovic, D., Rojas, C., Maldonado, J., Latorre, M., Travisany, D., Delage, E., ... & González, M. (2018). Structure and co-occurrence patterns in microbial communities under acute environmental stress reveal ecological factors fostering resilience. Scientific reports, 8(1), 1-12.

I want to correlate my otu table from phyloseq with different environmental parameter.

I am interested in doing something like this too. Has there been any progress? One possible approach might be to make a table of environmental parameters as a pseudo-OTU table, and pass it into the spiec.easi.multi function with the OTU tables. Is that a reasonable thing to do?
