Info Panel behavior

I saw there was a discussion about this marked closed. So I have a scenario to present to where the info panel needs a user set option to enable or disable it's "unasked" (mouse is on the left edge of the screen, I didn't select from a menu or Shift+I to show it) pop-out behavior.
On the left is my roommates machine, on the right is the "TV" machine. So for example Grandkids come over, toss on a movie for them and Bobs the uncle no one will leave you alone with. Except the info panel ruins this. The "TV" machine is controlled from the roommates machine via x2x. Start the movie and then move your mouse back to the originating machine and BLAM full screen is disabled as QMPlay pops out various UI elements and the info panel is now taking up a large portion of the screen no matter how you resize it. Given the mouse is now sitting on the left most pixel it thinks the user is hovering on it ensuring it never goes away. The only solution is to now SSH into the "TV" machine and use CLI to toggle full screen.
