NFS2SEN, how to compile ?

Open Dennis50300 opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

NFSIISE i got on my Debian (LMDE6 "Faye") running wonderful but i won't to use without 3Dfx-Glidwrapper too, because i want the version with Cockpit too :-)

As far as i know and see it, we only need instead "nfs2se" "nfs2sen" to start it so ?

best regards

This repo is not for Linux, Wine is the only option.

why it doesn't give a linux-native too, instead using wine then ? is old directx/ddraw so problematically ?

why it doesn't give a linux-native too, instead using wine then ?

It is a separate EXE file, I don't want to spent any time for this (it means whole work from scratch). I implemented only basic DDraw calls here. Wine is not bad anyway - for Linux games it's usually better than their "native" OpenGL ports on Steam (see TR 2013 native vs Proton).

if game won't start, kill the process and start again.

About this in README for Wine - I think I can look at this some day.

I fixed freezes at start with wine (use 32-bit wine, not wine-wow64), I'll upload patched binary https://github.com/zaps166/NFSIISEN/releases soon.
