And no, vscode isn't viable
VSCodium or Code OSS are the only ones I know of. They're vscode w/out all the bloat.

I dont use windows, I use unix, when I say trash that answer is in context , If you Vi, Vim or etc to compare the likes of Atom or even vscode despite, it is a no no so try to understand me better next time

There is Vscode, Vscodiumn(Vscode but no microsoft stuff), Vim, Neovim(Basically a more extension able vim), Emacs, sublime text, or just screw it and fork atom.

Well... you know Atom is also written using Electron? And almost everything uses telemetry? If you are not compiling your own linux kernel, writing your own GUI or go on and use MSDOS. Everything and every company is gathering data. Microsoft is just saying that they are doing it.

I used to use it. It also got abandoned by Adobe in 2020 but the community kept it alive. The community WILL keep Atom alive.
