feature request: Zoom in and out with mouse scroll while holding the ctrl key

Would make travelling through metabolic maps much easier.

great idea. just checking illustrator: alt-scroll is for zooming and ctrl-(mac command)-scroll is for left-right scrolling. how does inkscape do it?

Inkscape 0.92.3 on Ubuntu 16.04, holding ctrl and scrolling the mouse center button allows to zoom in and out. Holding the mouse center button allows to drag around the image.
