feature request: Respond on search bar re-open

Request: If the search bar is unfocused, have the search bar shortcut respond in some way.

Possibilities:

• Focus the search bar
• Focus the search bar, select text inside
• Focus the search bar, delete text inside (might be a problem if search bar loses focus to easily)

Probably related to #251, but I don't know what the behavior would be after that's closed.

Seem best to me. That's what gmail does (although github just does "Focus the search bar")
