Cannot apply custom backgrounds

Hello, I am unable to apply custom background to my home or lock screen. Do they need to be stored in a specific directory or a specific file type?

Do you mean that when you go to the posidon wallpapers gallery and press the folder button, no files show up or something else?

The files show up and I can select an image but on the image preview the apply button doesn't work.

Confirm, the apply button does not clickable.

I can confirm the apply button is not clickable. It only works when I select preloaded backgrounds that came with the launcher.
