are you on android 12.1? as per the readme: "Android 12L (AKA Android 12.1) has patched the ability to create fabricated overlays as the shell user. Only system apps and root can create fabricated overlays now."

In the Software information it says only Android version 12 Its Noble Rom 2.0

I am getting this issue and I am on Android 12L but with root access (Magisk 25.1). Even with root access, is this issue non-recoverable on Android 12L ?
